Brad Jacobs

Director – The Coffee Club

With over 16 years’ experience as franchisor of The Coffee Club in New Zealand (and more than 24 years’ experience in total as part of The Coffee Club International Group), it has been so rewarding to see the recognition and success that The Coffee Club New Zealand has enjoyed, including multiple Franchisee, Franchise System, Community and Marketing awards at the Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards over the years.

As both Director and Property Manager of The Coffee Club New Zealand, I am communicating daily with Franchisees of our own group and regularly with other Franchisors, landlords and franchising colleagues; giving me a true understanding of the issues faced by Franchisors and Franchisees throughout New Zealand in particular. The Coffee Club will continue to be a substantial contributor to the growth of the hospitality and franchising industries in the coming years and I am committed to achieving best practice in every area.

Achieving the milestone of 60+ cafes throughout New Zealand has been very rewarding for both my business partner and I, and this reinforces for us what great opportunity New Zealand offers for franchisors, franchisees and franchise related businesses.

I have spent my entire working career in franchising across both Australia and New Zealand as an employee to both a Franchisee (McDonald’s and The Coffee Club) and a Franchisor (The Coffee Club Australia), and as a Franchisor myself. This has given me a full appreciation of the challenges and rewards of franchising from all perspectives.

In addition, I have hands on experience at every level of the hospitality industry having started my career at McDonald’s in 1994 and joining The Coffee Club as a part time kitchen hand while studying at University in 1997.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my nine years on the Franchise Association of New Zealand Board so far, and look forward to contributing further to FANZ in the coming years.
